Bluegrass Tributes

This week for Music Monday, we've got bluegrass tributes. I misplaced my copy of this CD, but it got a lot of play when I had it:

Here's a song along similar lines...I know it's a little unexpected, but I like it:

I think Statesboro Blues makes the transition to bluegrass pretty easily. No singing in this one:

A bunch of bluegrass tribute albums are available here.

Absolutely wonderful cover of Statesboro Blues.

BTW, Blind Willie McTell wrote this Blues song around 1927. Early blues and hillbilly music (read: Bluegrass) were kinfolk, so I can just imagine somebody actually playing it like this way back then.

These Bluegrass covers really got me going so I checked out what's on the market...and, wow!

Had no idea. Led Zeppelin, Santana, Guns 'n' Roses, Kansas, and so many more.

Some don't work that well, but some are great. I *especially* liked the Barenaked Ladies tribute songs. Might just have to find some money to buy them!
