Dolly and Carol

When music was played, you had a sparkle in your life.
~Carol Kaye

People have been talking about Dolly a lot lately because she donated a million dollars for the development of a successful vaccine. Here is one of my favorite Dolly songs, plus a fascinating video about bassist Carol Kaye:

A poem about Dolly from a 2019 post.

Rockin' with your #MusicMonday, dear tuneful Tabatha! So generous about the DP $$$$$ for vaccines - her donation prompted a family DP chat & I found our grown feminist atty. daughter is a huge huge DP fan. How didn't I know that?
I love your poem.

Appreciations much for the licks in the video about Carol King super session player, from "LaBamba" days on. Feels like there should be a picture book on this stratospheric talent.

Everything about this post is a lift.

Giving Thanks Time Peace to You & your Fabulous Family.

Thanks for sharing more about Dolly. She is an amazing woman! And I love that song that you shared. And the poem you shared about her is awesome. I remember when you shared it last year. Your post brought me a smile--or maybe 2. And I really needed that today!

Thanks for featuring my very favorite Dolly song (in fact it is one of my all time favorites by anybody).

And Carol Kaye was amazing. Every rock fan should be acquainted with her.

I choreographed a dance to this Dolly song for a fifth grade talent show. Unfortunately I was a very enthusiastic dancer and the other kids laughed because they saw my underwear. Sigh.
