Where is Peace?

Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions.
~Henri Nouwen

Today's printable was inspired by my month of peace poems in February. When you are writing one a day, you wind up thinking about peace from many angles.

Where is peace? What does peace feel like? Is it where we feel safe, is it helping others? Can we find it in nature? Can we make it ourselves? With this printable, I imagine that a class could take a few minutes to make the mini-book and then write their own peace poem. I'm hoping that the printable will free them to find peace in many places.

This has been quite the not-peaceful week in Denver! I need to print this out for my sixth graders…

Thank you for another great resource.

And, because my eyeballs strayed to Thursday's post, thank you for getting me thinking about quivers and arrows (although the fox did hurt my heart a bit)...

I love this little video. I have the hardest time teaching a whole class of middle schoolers something like how to fold a mini-book. But, if I could have the video AND work with frustrated kids at the same time, MY OWN frustration would be lessened. I have loved your passion for providing poetry resources. Its such a help! Thank you.

"an octopus of healing arms" - Gosh, Tabatha. I have been annoyed by our overgrown aloe...and now, finally, thanks to this, I will repot it this week. These poems - and this post - are so generous-hearted. Our world needs them and you. Thank you. I adore this printable and the others and am off to see if they are in your sidebar too. Happy Poetry Friday - and thank you for the quote too. xxxx

I saw this on Sylvia's post & have taught the girls how to make the mini-book. It is such fun, Tabatha. Finding peace is not always easy, but always worth working on it one step at a time. Thank you!

Thank you for this tiny treasure. I love each poem, but the image of the cat "whispering love poems/with her whiskers" is my favorite!

What a great way to end your printable with this little book on "Where is peace?" I love the idea of skipping our troubles away over water and having them disappear, and also your lollipop of "Hope." Thanks for all they are terrific!
