Looking up
Did you know...that around the tenth of August, any year, you can look up in the sky at night and see dozens and dozens of shooting stars?
~Elizabeth Enright
I looked it up -- she was talking about the Perseids meteor shower, which does take place every year around that time. (If I were organized, I would have posted this then, but...)
Awww, there is just something about shooting stars that brings out the romantic in me. Wistful, hopeful. Back to being a little child when all we had to do was make a wish when we saw a shooting star. A star full of possibilities.

Nice painting. I'd think that painting shooting stars would be one of the most difficult phenomena to capture.
I've never heard of the August 10 shooting stars business. It would be cool if it were true. Guess I'll just have to check next August. :-)

Well, maybe you can post it again in August!
Maybe I will! I like how the artist conveys so much about the people in the painting and their relationship, even though it's dark.
