Mobile Libraries

I have always thought that librarians are a little bit like doctors, travel agents and professors all rolled into one. We all know that a great story can lift spirits, take you anywhere in the world you want to go and in any time period to boot, and the lessons you learn from a good book can buoy your own convictions and even change your life.

I'm a week late, but this post is in honor of National Bookmobile Day (April 16).

Mobile libraries truly show how much we need to feast on books and that some kind souls will go to whatever lengths to provide such food for us.

I must admit that I'm a bit puzzled about the Fubon mobile library. Fantastic "bus" but what does it do?

I grew up with a bookmobile providing me with wonderful books, and treasure the idea. One library system here still uses them for places in the foothills. Thanks for all the pictures, Tabatha. The book Biblioburro is terrific, and there have been several others published in recent years.
