Tiny star

Because of the routines we follow, we often forget that life is an ongoing adventure...We need to remember that we are created creative and can invent new scenarios as frequently as they are needed.
~Maya Angelou

Hello, Poetry Friday friends! Our holidays are officially over now that Ariana's birthday has come and gone (she had a deep sea theme, as seen above.) Time to get serious about inventing 2024 scenarios.

Need a little sun? Maybe you're it. A poem by James Crews:

Thanks for this, Tabatha. I went and read the rest of it...and then more of his poems...and I felt lighter and brighter for it <3

Is that a jellyfish?! So cool! I loved the detailed observations in Hello, Little Sun like the counting of coins and the careful French. Made me smile!

"the warmth of every word" - a poem that's a hug for us, Tabatha, needed on this amazing weather day! Happy late Birthday to Ariana.

I love how the poem focuses on those micro moments that come unexpectedly, that bring us micro-joys each days. Sometimes we don't even notice, unfortunately, and need to pay attention.

Well, YES - I, too, will accept these delightful words as a message for ME.

How delightful! I feel warmer for having read this poem, Tabatha. (I'm on the road right now, and before leaving, tucked James Crew's "How to Love the World: Poems of Gratitude and Hope" into my bag. You've given me a nudge to make sure to carve out some time to dive in.)

I don't know how he does it but now I am loving that I have a little star inside to take with me wherever I go. What a delightful poem. Thank you! What a great theme for a birthday...more birthday themes, please!

Oh, my goodness, I could have sworn I already left my comment here! January Brain!?! Anyway, I love this one by Crews! I love getting his newsletter/poems in my Inbox but you made me realize I'm not following him on IG. Remedied! Happy Belated Birthday to Ariana! Long live jellyfish and sunshine!

P.S. I love that Angelou quote too. ❤️
