Poetry Monster Pays a Visit

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
by Lewis Carroll

What has the Poetry Monster been up to lately? He's been spending time with poems by Lewis Carroll and Robert Burns.

Like everyone, Poetry Monster has his ups and downs. Sometimes his plans go well, and sometimes they gang aft agley.

Catherine Johnson has the Poetry Friday round-up.

Well, my plans so gang aft agley that I'm just now getting to Poetry Friday rounds on Sunday! Thanks to the Poetry Monster and his Creator for these - sigh, so familiar - sharings this week! A perfect post about life's imperfections. And nonsensical beasties. Thanks!

What a delightful character you have created in Poetry Monster. Thank you for introducing him to me.

Love the very idea of a poetry monster. My daughter is a theatre geek - I hope that someday she gets to recite Jabberwocky - and all the passion it entails to recite them "gyres and gimbles in the wabe."

Yay! Poetry Monster's back! And what fine taste in poetry he has. One of my favorite Muppet clips too.
