Yes, Audubon had an amazing knowledge of birds and their habitat and yes, he obviously loved portraying birds in their glory, but we should also give him credit for being a wonderful artist.
True! The artistry in his engravings, especially his feathers, knocks me out!
The paintings make one want to look and look. The breadth of his work is also amazing.
Stunning is the only word I'm thinking.
