She might well indeed be happy...or she might be enduring (as in bugs, heat, etc.) Gardening is a commitment, a relationship if you will. You'll go through tough times and unadulterated joy.
ReplyDeleteAnd it can be simplest of things. I put a piece of ginger in a pot in the house early in the summer. I've watered it as I should but weeks went by and nothing, nothing, nothing. But this morning (yes, this very morning) I went to water it and, voila, a beautiful healthy shoot. So another element of the relationship: patience. :-)
